On the third day,
after the sweet scent of the proud Rose
and before the timeless blue of the Forget-me-not,
God created Cherry Blossom.
White and pink He created it,
Delicate and tender He created it,
Heavenly caress to both joyful
And mourning souls.
For a brief time He created it,
Gradual yet sudden He created it,
Anchored tenderly to blue skies,
Or dancing to the gentle pulse of the wind.
Spring snow crystal yearning for summer.
Imprint of God’s glory on a weeping world.
Awesome yet fleeting
As life itself.
